Biovision is a Switzerland-based non-profit organisation working towards creating sustainable and just food systems where enough food for all is produced by healthy people in a healthy environment.
This Agroecology Investment Guide is part of the ‘Investing in the Agroecology Business Case’ programme, which Biovision’s Policy and Advocacy team which started in 2022. The programme aims to catalyse the scaling of agroecology through increased availability of suitable capital and a more enabling environment for agroecological enterprises. To achieve this goal, we tackle the main barriers identified at the financing level and enterprise level and through that try to unlock a positive feedback loop. We want to shift the perceptions of decision makers in finance and politics through proving the agroecological business case and inspiring its replication.
Biovision’s work in the area of investment into agroecology focuses on creating a bridge between purely market-focused initiatives and social movements. We act as a source of information and – due to civil society movements’ respect and trust for us – as credible conveners.
